Impact analysis of percolation wells in the Bommanahalli Zone

United Way, Bengaluru is a not-for-profit organisation working in the sphere of Environment for the last 10 years. One of their Campaigns is ‘One Billion Drops’ which aims to create 10,000 percolation wells in the city of Bengaluru to recharge the declining groundwater.

The objective of the work is (1) delineation of Watershed/Aquifer and Identification of appropriate locations for ground water recharge considering each sub-watershed as hydro-geological unit of it study and (2) Impact analysis (assessment of effectiveness or performance evaluation) of recharge structures (percolation wells). The work involves data collection, geospatial analysis (RS & GIS), ground truthing and stakeholder’s interaction.
